Cheryl is a compassionate and caring woman who despite having kids of her own, took in another through the foster system so he could have a good home. She took her commitment seriously and loved him until his parental unit could give him the home he needed.
Sheri gives of herself helping those in need. She heads up a food pantry, and goes out of her way to help those in community service to keep on the right path. She tirelessly does everything possible to get grants and donations and if not for her we would not have the food pantry up and running as it is.
Janet donates to the shop with a cop toy drive every year we take donations at work and she also has helped her employees with there kids Christmas and school supplies. Barbara is so kind hearted and does ANYTHING for her community, looking our for her elderly neighbors giving back and donating what she can and her time also rescue animals and trap and fix them she has went above and beyond for her community.
Sharon embodies compassion, care & commitment to the people in our community. She is retired from MANY years as a LPN nurse. Despite having 2 hip replacements, high blood pressure, & mild arthritis, she volunteers at her local food bank two times per week. She volunteers in the "clothing closet" section of the food bank, helping those in need. She helps find families suitable clothing/shoes after catashrophes (such as a house or apt. fires) or sometimes people come in & request "interview-appropriate" attire because they have an upcoming job interview. She listens to each person's request, & tries her hardest to match the available clothing to their individual needs. She also hangs up the donated clothing & keeps the clothing closet neat & tidy. She treats everyone that comes in with dignity & respect with a smile on her face. She is the Angel of our local food's bank clothes closet.
who is always donating his time to help our community. He works with special needs children and has really made a difference in their lives. He also is a dad to two amazing kids and is a great role model!
She is a lifesaver and exhibits compassion, care, and commitment to our community because her mission is to help all those in need in our community. She works officially out of a local church, but her service is not limited by religion. The majority of people she helps, have nothing to do with the church. She does use the parish community to teach and lead all, including the precious children who learn how to serve those less fortunate. Sister Kathy provides food, household supplies, gas gift cards, school supplies, furniture...the list goes on and on. Anyone in need can get in contact with Sister Kathy and she will do her best to help them. It is amazing to watch her work. In my mind, she is a living saint. It is wondrous to hear of her specific needs for people that contact her. Whether it is specific clothing, warm coats, a bed/mattress, cooking supplies, or food for a family, it is miraculous how someone walks into her office with that exact item to donate...without even knowing the specific need was there. She draws out the good in people around her and inspires others to give back to all.
cares about his community. He helps to gather non-perishable food. He gives the food to the local food banks, to help people/families in need. During the colder months, he collects blankets as well. Todd shows a genuine compassion by staying dedicated and does this on his own free time. His ability to stay committed is inspiring.
She goes out of her way to help others every day that need help, no matter how busy she is. She has a heart of gold and cares for others so much. She puts other people before herself. She is such a hard worker but always makes time for her family. She shows the world that there are still people who care about others and reach out to help others in need!
who works with me at the children's shelter. She is always cheery even when she is stressed out. She makes everyone she comes into contact with, happy.
is a wonderful human being! She is retired and spends so much of her time giving to area children. She is also active behind the scenes -- giving money to organizations so events are 'free', donating huge prizes for fundraisers, etc. She's also that person who anonymously pays off layaways around Christmastime. She makes this world a much better place!
works at a hospital where he goes the extra mile to make sure patients and family are cared for. He is a wonderful father who makes numerous sacrifices to provide for his two young daughters. He's also a good son to his parents and a caring member of his church. It's an honor to call Mike a friend.
Chris M. is actively involved in his community and volunteers through a number of avenues. He does community service projects through Habitat for Humanity and helps clean up yards of elderly citizens. He also is involved on his community service board at his work and plans events for his coworkers.
My landlord Mark S. is always volunteering his time, checking on the less fortunate and sponsoring youths in our community. After a storm came through, he was outside propping up fences and helping strangers get back on their feet. Whenever he has free time, he heads to the local charities to see how he can help. An all around great person.
Faye N. is my nominee. I suffer from extreme social anxiety. Sometimes I cannot bring myself to leave my home. Faye is compassionate to me by calling to check on me and sympathizing with me. She is caring by encouraging me to leave home and come to breakfast with her. Lastly she is committed to seeing me get well by reading and helping me understand Gods word and his plans for me. I have made small strides toward recovery through her kindness.
